Kundura DocLab

Kundura DocLab

The Lab is open to all directors working with research-driven approaches in film and theatre. It encourages participants to reflect inward, follow dramaturgically structured and aesthetically oriented prompts, and navigate the resistances within their creative processes.

Kundura DocLab emphasizes the importance of research in artistic creation and aims to deepen the methodologies of non-fiction storytelling, while also exploring new artistic approaches and the possibility of imagining ‘another world.’

Kundura DocLab is a creative and capacity-building program inviting artists to explore the boundaries of documentary art through experimentation with form, perspective, and methodology. Launched in May 2022, the international program brings together filmmakers and theatre directors working in non-fiction storytelling, offering a unique platform for artistic exchange and research.

By bridging cinema and theatre, Kundura DocLab seeks to explore the shared creative processes between these disciplines and highlight their overlapping narrative potentials. Designed in collaboration with invited mentors, the annual program creates a space where voices from different countries and artistic backgrounds come together.

CineCollective Istanbul

CineCollective Istanbul

CineCollective Istanbul is an international film residency supporting emerging filmmakers in developing their first or second feature-length projects—whether fiction, documentary, or hybrid. The program offers a collaborative and inspiring environment where artistic development meets cultural exchange.

Designed as a regional platform, the residency provides tailored guidance from both regional and French industry professionals. Its aim is to help participants take significant steps in their projects, while opening opportunities for co-productions and creative partnerships.

At its core, CineCollective is more than just a workshop—it is a growing community of filmmakers. The program encourages dialogue, shared experiences, and long-term connections across borders. While participants are grouped by genre (fiction or documentary), shared sessions such as masterclasses with renowned directors foster interdisciplinary thinking.

Special attention is given to hybrid works that explore new narrative forms and challenge traditional storytelling structures.
